Scale your Cloud database in smaller steps

GAEditorReleased Jul 2026All plansSource: docs.lovable.dev

Scale your Cloud database in smaller steps is Lovable's Editor feature: Lovable Cloud has a new database size .

Lovable Cloud has a new database size . It sits between Small and the size previously called Medium , giving you a smaller upgrade step when Small is no longer enough. The new size takes the name Medium , and the sizes above it were renamed: the previous Medium is now Large , the previous Large is now X-Large , and the previous X-Large is now 2X-Large . For existing databases, only the name changed: nothing was resized or upgraded, and hourly prices are unchanged. If your project runs on one of the renamed sizes, Advanced settings shows a Database size names updated notice. Pick a size in Cloud → Advanced settings → Upgrade instance , or ask Lovable in the project to resize. Resizing takes a couple of minutes and briefly interrupts your app, and you can move back down later. Project editors on paid plans can change the instance size.

Example workflows

Starting points built from this record, not transcripts of a run. Each prompt is written the way it should be sent, as one paragraph, and each is worth editing before you send it.

  1. Stand it up from scratch

You have read the record and want Scale your Cloud database in smaller steps working in a real project rather than a sandbox.

Set up Scale your Cloud database in smaller steps in this project — lovable Cloud has a new database size. Walk it end to end, tell me exactly what you changed, and flag anything I have to switch on myself before it works.

    Expected outcome

A working setup, a plain list of what changed, and a short list of anything left for you to switch on. Check that list before assuming it is done.

  2. Decide whether it fits your project

I am building the project in this workspace. Given that Scale your Cloud database in smaller steps lovable Cloud has a new database size, tell me honestly whether it fits what I am building, including the cases where I should not use it. If it does fit, give me the single smallest first step.

    Expected outcome

A direct yes or no with the reasoning, the cases against it, and one first step. Treat a hedged answer as a no.

  3. Brief your team on it

Someone has to explain the change to the people who will live with it. This produces that note.

    Expected outcome

A note you can paste into chat as-is. Read it once for anything overstated before you send it.
